Interior Designer

Job Description:

The primary purpose of this role is to collaborate with architects, project managers, project teams, and clients to conceptualize and create interior spaces that align with the client and the project requirements. As an integral member of the team, the Interior Designer will provide expert design advice to enhance the overall quality, layout, and functionality of spatial environments while simultaneously analyzing and recommending appropriate materials and FF&E specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architectural, interior design teams, and external consultants to develop interior design concepts that meet project requirements, objectives, and budget constraints.
  • Develop innovative interior design concepts that align with the client's vision and brand identity.
  • Research and analysis of design options through modelling and sketching.
  • Documentation of materials and furnishing specifications.
  • Research for new interior design related sources and closely coordinate with materials and furnishing suppliers.
  • Develop and propose potential solutions to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress, address any design challenges or discrepancies, and provide solutions as needed.
  • Participate in design meetings, presentations, and client consultations to gather feedback, refine designs, and ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in interior design to bring fresh ideas and innovative solutions to projects.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create visual presentations, renderings, and marketing materials that showcase the firm's interior design expertise and portfolio of projects.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior interior designers and interns, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Essential Skills:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate design concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Knowledgeable of interior design practices, materials and FF&E sourcing.
  • Understanding of local building codes, regulations, and construction processes
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Architect or a Licensed Interior Designer with demonstrable experience on wide range of Interior Design projects at various stages
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the design industry
