Junior Bookkeeper

This is a remote position.

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our finance team and Australian clients with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks. This is a remote position ideal for someone with foundational experience in Australian bookkeeping, who is eager to grow their skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

You will assist with basic data entry, reconciliation, invoice processing, and general accounts support using cloud-based accounting software like Xero or MYOB. This role is suited for someone who is organised, reliable, and has a strong interest in Australian finance and compliance.

JOB DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
  

• Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Superannuation contributions in line with ATO deadlines (if qualified or under the supervision of a BAS agent)
  

• Maintain accurate financial records in Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks Online
  

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports for clients
  

• Manage payroll processes, including Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting
  

• Ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, and ATO lodgement deadlines
  

• Communicate with clients and stakeholders regarding financial queries or missing documentation
  

• Collaborate with accountants for year-end processing and tax preparation
  

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for someone who has:

• Working knowledge of accounting tools such as xero or quickbooks Basic understanding of GST, BAS, and Australian tax principles
  

• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to follow established processes
  

• Good written and verbal English communication skills
  

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and email platforms
  

• Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently in a remote setting
  

TYPE OF POSITION, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

• Full Time Position: 40 hrs per week
  

• Work From Home Set up
  

• Can work between 9AM to 6PM AEST
  

• Laptop / Desktop (Minimum requirements 16GB RAM, i5 processor & Windows 10)
  

• Internet Speed (Minimum of 15 MBPS}
