Electrician / Generator Technician

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and equipment
• Install, service, and repair diesel or gas-powered generators and associated control systems
• Perform routine generator testing, load banking, and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose electrical faults using testing equipment and technical documentation
• Replace or repair faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, wiring, circuit breakers, etc.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with national electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service reports, and parts usage
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide technical support as needed
• Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure timely and efficient service
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

• Participate in safety training and ensure compliance with PPE and hazard protocolsQualifications:

• High school diploma or technical certification in Electrical Technology or a related field

• Proven experience as an electrician or generator technician (2–5 years preferred)
• Strong knowledge of generator systems (diesel, gas, or hybrid) and electrical systems
• Familiarity with wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and diagnostic tools
• Ability to work with hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations
• Good physical condition and ability to work in confined spaces or outdoor environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Valid electrician's license or certification (if required by local law)
• Driver's license may be required for field service roles

## Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

• Experience with automatic transfer switches (ATS), control panels, and synchronization systems
• Knowledge of industrial generators or large-scale power systems
• Certifications from generator manufacturers (e.g., Cummins, Perkins, FG Wilson, Caterpillar)
• Basic computer skills for report generation and diagnostic tools

## Working Conditions:

• Field or facility-based; may include working outdoors in various weather conditions
• May require working after hours, on weekends, or on-call duty for emergencies
• Use of PPE required during all service and maintenance work
