Pay:

$8.50 – $9.50 USD per hour, plus overtime eligibility for any hours in excess of 40 hours per workweek. Overtime rate is calculated as your hourly rate x 1.5.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, 8-hour shift, 7:30AM - 4:30PM
• Occasional Saturdays and overtime as needed

Overview

Five Star Builders is hiring a Procurement & Flatbed Truck Driver to keep our jobsites supplied and on schedule. You'll source materials, place orders, pick up from vendors, and deliver to sites using a flatbed—securing and protecting loads to OSHA/DOT standards. This role suits someone who knows construction materials across trades and communicates clearly with project managers, site supervisors, and vendors. We keep things professional—and we also appreciate people who bring a friendly, good-natured sense of humor to the team.

Relocation Requirement

This position is based in Saipan, CNMI and requires full relocation for an assignment of up to 3 years. Remote or commuter arrangements are not available. Candidates outside the CNMI must be willing to relocate. Five Star Builders will provide relocation assistance to include processing of work visa, medical clearance, and housing barracks.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Coordination

• Source materials across multiple trades with local suppliers (carpentry, concrete, masonry, roofing/metal, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, finishes).
• Request quotes and compare lead times.
• Track purchase orders, receipts, and delivery tickets.
• Coordinate with PMs/Supers on needed specs, alternates, substitutions, and delivery timing.
• Check tools/materials in/out using company toolbox system.

Driving & Logistics

• Operate a flatbed truck to pick up and deliver materials around Saipan (occasional inter-island logistics support).
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections; keep the vehicle clean and in good operating condition.
• Secure loads with chains/straps, edge protectors, and tarps; prevent damage to materials.
• Safely load/unload using forklift/telehandler or by hand; coordinate with suppliers' yard staff.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures/photos on drop-off.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow OSHA, FMCSA/DOT, and company safety policies; use required PPE.
• Adhere to load securement standards; report defects and incidents immediately.
• Support site safety rules during deliveries (spotters, exclusion zones, traffic control as needed).

What You Know (Required)

• Clean, valid CNMI driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Proven experience driving flatbed or medium-duty trucks and securing loads.
• Strong familiarity with common construction materials (lumber/plywood grades, concrete/rebar/wire mesh, roofing panels/flashings/fasteners, EMT/PVC/fittings, THHN, valves, adhesives, paint/finishes, etc.).
• Able to lift 50–75 lbs and work in outdoor conditions (heat/rain/uneven terrain).
• Basic smartphone/app skills for receiving tasks, capturing photos, and logging deliveries.
• Professional communication with vendors and site crews; reliable and punctual.

Nice to Have

• Basic mechanical sense for tie-down gear, tarps, and minor truck equipment checks.
• Friendly, good-natured communication style—you keep things positive while staying professional.
