Position Summary
The Office Engineer supports project managers, field engineers, and construction teams by coordinating project documentation, managing information flow, and ensuring technical and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on schedule. This role serves as a key link between office operations and field activities, helping maintain project quality, cost control, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and maintain project documents including submittals, RFIs, change orders, drawings, and specifications.
- Track project correspondence and ensure timely response and distribution.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for all project records.
- Assist in reviewing drawings, plans, and technical documents for accuracy and consistency.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather technical information.
- Support quality control efforts by tracking inspections, test reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support the Project Manager in planning, scheduling, and project tracking.
- Attend project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and distribute action items.
- Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and vendor communication.
- Assist in monitoring project budgets and cost reports.
- Track progress against schedules and report variances.
- Help prepare monthly progress reports, pay applications, and financial documentation.
- Serve as a communication conduit between field operations and office staff.
- Follow up on pending items and ensure all project team members are aligned.
Support client, consultant, and subcontractor coordination efforts.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, engineering, or project administration (depending on role level).
- Internship or field experience in engineering or construction is a plus.
Skills
- Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, AutoCAD) preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
