What is the job?

The Team Leader is responsible for managing the company's end-to-end general ledger processes, including leading the month-end close, maintaining accurate and well-controlled balance sheet reconciliations, and providing accounting guidance to the Finance team. This role manages relationships with external accounting partners, oversees the implementation of technical accounting standards into the general ledger, and ensures compliance with US GAAP for audit readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and enhance month-end close processes through automation and improved controls.
  • Act as the main contact for operational accounting, mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements.
  • Ensure accuracy in balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger entries in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Lead the preparation of statutory accounts, audits, and R&D tax credit submissions.
  • Supervise and guide AP/AR analysts to improve coding accuracy and accounting knowledge.
  • Partner with FP&A to manage non-GAAP adjustments and produce bridge reports between management and statutory accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least five years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experienced in leading or mentoring accounting staff in both public accounting and corporate settings.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, preferably with exposure to software or SaaS industry practices.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Skilled in identifying and implementing accounting process improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with experience collaborating with auditors and regulatory bodies.
