About the role

MELCO Factory Automation Philippines Inc. is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time position based in Mandaluyong City. In this role, you will play a crucial in providing technical support who are diagnosing, troubleshooting and repair of Mitsubishi Freqrol VFDs. Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise for Mitsubishi Electric VFD products and technologies.

A. RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Provide customer support by troubleshooting and solving customer issues via the phone, chat and email.

  2. Manage customer interactions including and not limited to, setting expectations with customers prior to concluding an interaction, capturing the customer issue/resolution/steps taken to troubleshoot and following up with customer(s) in a timely manner.

  3. Handle complex customer system issues from start to finish and serve as company liaison to the customer for Mitsubishi Freqrol VFD customer inquiries.

  4. Participate in the establishment, measurement, and achievement of customer satisfaction metrics.

  5. Adhere to all necessary company policies and procedures, standard operating procedures and completing company/organization-wide require documentation/trainings.

  6. Update and author Technical Notes and other documentation with solutions or workarounds to commonly experienced problems, installation practices that create problems, how-to guides, etc. to improve customer satisfaction and acceptance.

  7. Understand, troubleshoot and repair of VFD hardware.

  8. Work independently to optimize work activities and revenue generation while providing field service support for customers.

  9. Handle escalations that involve interfacing with other products, or group of other products outside your core area.

B. QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor of Science in Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology.

  2. Preferably with experience on circuit board repairs and understand schematic diagrams. working with industrial automation products / systems.

  3. Ability to interpret information gathered by tools and act upon it.

  4. Preferably with high level of system/product expertise on Mitsubishi Electric Freqrol Inverters

  5. Ability to handle high pressure work situations

  6. Self-initiative, ownership, excellent listening skills, a drive to follow issues to resolution commercial sensitivity, and superb attention to detail.

  7. Responsiveness, customer-centric mindset, collaborative, technical engineering expertise, and business acumen.

  8. Able to work unusual or extended hours including weekends and holidays to respond to system emergencies or major storm-related restoration efforts.

  9. Willing to travel (local and overseas).
