The incumbent operates bone densitometry equipment to produce quality images. Perform related technical functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for bone density examinations, determining appropriateness of examinations requested given the diagnosis and clinical signs. Positions and immobilizes patients of all age groups and disease categories to provide maximum diagnostic information.
- Performs high quality testing and relaying tests to the reading physician in a timely manner.
- Assists radiologists and/or technologists during procedures. Maintains the highest standard of patient care as specified in regional and local policies and procedures.
- Assembles supplies needed for examinations and transports patients as needed
- Explains examination and advises patients and families regarding the examination and radiation exposure. Assesses patient and family's ability to participate in the examination and adjusts accordingly.
- Observes radiation safety standards, hospital patient safety policies, and identifies and reports changes in patient condition.
- Operates and records bone densitometry images of optimal diagnostic quality by set standards and procedures based upon individual patient needs. Reports malfunctioning equipment to supervisor and/or hospital engineering department.
- Performs daily quality control testing, routine preventative maintenance, and calibration of equipment. Recognizes factors that affect testing results and taking appropriate actions within pre-determined limits, when applicable.
- Completes scans re-analysis and distribution to referring physicians, outpatient records, and bone density files.
- Performs procedures such as archiving, copying, and sending result copies.
- Retrieves and delivers film jackets as needed.
- Maintains daily logs, patient schedules, and performs any other related clerical duties as needed.
- Understands the computer programs and required protocols for examinations.
- Maintains proper file inventories.
- Assumes responsibility for the orderliness and cleanliness of the imaging areas assigned. Cleans technical and auxiliary equipment to ensure quality and hygiene for infection control purposes.
- Answers messages and explains department procedures when needed.
- May be asked to assist and support with other Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT procedures
- Other duties or ad hoc tasks/projects that may be assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Radiology Technology
- Valid PRC License
- 1-2 year of previous experience in handling bone densitometry equipment
- Preferably with Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) – Course on Medical-Use of Radioisotopes (CMR) training course or RPO/RSO (Radiation Protection/Safety)
- Computer literate, Ability to work under pressure, Multi-tasker
- Willing to work in Arca South, Western Bicutan, Taguig City
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php26, Php28,000.00 per month
