Job Summary:

The EHS Officer is responsible for assisting in the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety programs within the project or worksite. The role ensures compliance with company policies and government regulations to maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Program compliant with prescribed standards and legislations.
  • Participate in planning and implementing safety and environmental activities at the project site.
  • Ensure the proper implementation of the Permit to Work (PTW) system in the workplace.
  • Conduct regular inspection and monitoring of all work areas to identify unsafe acts, conditions, or environmental issues.
  • Ensure that all EHS concerns are properly communicated to key personnel and that corrective actions are implemented.
  • Facilitate or coordinate EHS training and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Ensure that the workplace and workers are adequately prepared for emergency occurrences by maintaining updated emergency plans and conducting regular drills.
  • Assist in the investigation and reporting of incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring all findings are documented and corrective measures are taken.
  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA) for facilities, tools, equipment, and work activities.
  • Support the company in maintaining compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., DOLE, DENR, LGU).
  • Maintain and properly file all EHS-related records and documents for audit and reference purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of any Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Environmental Science course
  • Must have completed Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training for Safety Officer 2 (as prescribed by DOLE D.O
  • Preferably with 1–2 years of experience in construction or industrial safety
  • Knowledgeable in Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) and environmental regulations
  • Detail-oriented, with good communication and documentation skills
