We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Solar to lead the engineering design, technical execution, and project delivery of utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects. The candidate will serve as the technical lead across all phases of the project lifecycle—from feasibility and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering Leadership

Lead the design, engineering, and technical review of solar PV systems (utility-scale, C&I, and hybrid systems).

Oversee system layout, single-line diagrams, electrical calculations, cable sizing, earthing, and protection studies.

Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation.

  • Project Management

Provide technical input and support for project planning, scheduling, and execution.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, electrical, structural, SCADA, etc.) to ensure design integrity and constructability.

Interface with EPC contractors, suppliers, and consultants to resolve technical issues.

  • Quality & Compliance

Ensure designs meet local codes, international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, etc.), and grid connection requirements.

Conduct technical due diligence for site feasibility studies and grid interconnection studies.

Support commissioning and performance testing to validate system performance.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with clients, utilities, regulatory authorities, and internal teams to align technical deliverables with project goals.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in solar PV engineering and project delivery, including utility-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of PV system design, inverters, transformers, protection systems, SCADA, and grid interconnection.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP, Helioscope, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, UL, NEC, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with hybrid solar + storage projects.
  • Exposure to project finance technical support (due diligence, bankability studies).
  • Knowledge of construction practices, EPC contracts, and O&M requirements.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.
