Role Overview

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a key role in helping the business work more efficiently by using technology effectively. This role focuses on understanding how the business operates, identifying opportunities for improvement, and translating those needs into system solutions.

The BSA works closely with business users, IT teams, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure systems are designed, implemented, and supported in a way that truly meets business needs. This role reports to the Information Systems Manager.

What You'll Do

Understand and improve business processes

  • Work with different teams to understand how they use systems today and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend process and system enhancements that support business goals.
  • Document business requirements using clear and practical tools such as process flows and gap analysis.

Design, implement, and roll out systems

  • Support the enhancement and rollout of systems such as ERP, POS, warehouse and merchandising systems, HR systems, reporting tools, and other business applications.
  • Coordinate with users to review and validate requirements before implementation.
  • Conduct system testing and support user acceptance testing.
  • Assist with system rollouts, including user guides, announcements, and training when needed.
  • Monitor implementation issues and follow through until systems are stable.

Support new system initiatives

  • Help assess and evaluate new software solutions based on business needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and consultants during system selection and implementation.
  • Support project planning, timelines, and cost considerations.
  • Assist with system integrations and documentation.

Provide ongoing system support

  • Help manage system updates and version releases.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate with internal teams or vendors for resolution.
  • Provide first-level support to users of core business systems.

Reporting and data support

  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards that help users make informed decisions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Make report improvements based on user feedback.

Training, documentation, and compliance

  • Support user training needs for systems and processes.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation and user guides.
  • Help enforce data access and IT security policies.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an IT, systems, or business analysis role.
  • Exposure to ERP, POS, reporting tools, or business systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with different teams.
  • Organized, adaptable, and willing to learn.
