As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible in handling the following:

Job Purpose:

  • To oversee and facilitate the tenancy MEP design reviews for approvals as per the Design and Fit-out Criteria Manual and in compliance with the local authorities.

  • To prepare design brief, technical evaluation for execution of LVRs and TVRs.

Key accountabilities & Tasks:

  • Manage the tenant MEP design review for approval to ensure all stores and Projects meet the required standard and image of the Mall/ Asset.

  • Facilitate the MEP design process starting from kick-stage all the way to tracking, reviewing drawings and issuance of approvals.

  • Ensure all MEP design enhancements and retail MEP design for units are delivered to the highest standard and maintain the required quality of the Mall/ Asset.

  • Coordinate with external consultants and local authorities to ensure all relevant approvals are in place for the design enhancements undertaken for Assets.

  • Attend regular meetings with the team/ management to provide updates on the status of all MEP designs.

  • Challenge tenant MEP design and update/ enhance MEP fit out guidelines with local and international requirements to best practice standards of retail design and fit outs.

Job Context & Complexity:

  • To manage MEP Design deliverables from external consultants and in-house team and stay competitive to new trends in the market.

  • To ensure tenancy MEP designs are being reviewed and approved as per the set MEP Design guidelines and in compliance with local authority requirements of safety and building regulations .

Boundaries & decision-making authority:

  • Leading MEP design initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Delegation of authority involves overseeing the MEP team's activities, project timelines, and resource allocation.

  • Problem-solving requires resolving MEP design challenges while aligning with brand objectives and constraints.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Must be a Registered Mechanical Engineer

  • At least five (5) years working experience in Hospitality, Residential, Retail MEP Design.

  • Familiar with the international and local codes and standard.

  • Problem Solving and People Management Skills

  • Above average communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge in Adobe and AutoCAD is an advantage
