Cloud Engineer

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Cloud Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud solutions across cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, with integration to on-premise infrastructure. This role is to develop infrastructure such as code, automated deployment pipelines, and native application platforms using services such as but not limited to EC2, Lambda, ECS, and Faregate.

The engineer ensures system reliability, performance monitoring, and optimization through tools like CloudWatch, X-Ray, and Trusted Advisor. Security and compliance are enforced using IAM and Entra ID, Guar, and AWS Config while supporting hybrid connectivity via VPN and Direct Connect. The role also includes documentation, cross-team collaboration, and mentoring to drive best practices in cloud adoption and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, design, implement, document and maintain hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure) solutions leveraging services such as but not limited to EC2, Lambda, ECS, and Fargate, while integrating with on-premise infrastructure via AWS Direct Connect or VPN.
• Capacity planning and scalability forecasting for both cloud and hybrid environments. Estimate resource requirements, contribute to budget forecasts for tools and pipelines, and streamline release cycles.
• Define architecture blueprints that ensure performance, scalability, and resilience aligned with business goals. Ensure designs follow vendor (AWS, Azure) Well-Architected Framework and support disaster recovery strategies.
• Plan, design, implement, document and maintain security controls like but not limited to Entra ID, Intune IAM, GuardDuty, AWS Config, and Security.
• Plan, design, implement, document and maintain monitoring strategies using tools such as but not limited to Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and CloudTrail, ensuring system health, performance, and cost optimization.
• Plan, design, implement, document and maintain automated and manual backup and restoration workflows using services like AWS Backup, S3, and RDS snapshots aligned with Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).
• End-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of cloud and infrastructure-related projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet security and compliance standards defined by industry.
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting by responding to IT helpdesk requests submitted via the ticketing system, email, or phone, ensuring all issues are addressed within the defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Create and maintain technical documentation for architecture, integrations, and operational procedures.

Technical Skills:

Required course (if applicable): BS in Computer Science 4 year course

Suggested Certification/Professional License (if applicable): AWS Cloud or any Cloud certification

Field of Specialization (if applicable): FMCG, IT, Network and Cloud Infrastructure

Pay: Php40, Php60,000.00 per month
