Our Client

Our client is a Xero Advisor Certified Practice in Australia that partners with organisations across industries, including not-for-profits. They combine strong technical knowledge with practical solutions, offering a collaborative environment where you can grow your expertise in Australian accounting.

We're looking for a Management Accountant to support an Australian-based Xero Advisor Certified Practice that provides accounting and financial management services to small, medium, and large organizations.

This is a remote position, working closely with an Australian finance team. You'll prepare accurate reports, support compliance requirements, and help clients operate, report, and plan effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and publish financial reports using Xero
  • Draft Spotlight reports and budget templates with data comparisons
  • Prepare Xero Workpapers and perform final reconciliations for audit
  • Respond to audit queries and provide financial information for funding acquittals
  • Ensure compliance with tax and other requirements (FBT, PAYG, etc.)
  • Draft statutory accounts when needed
  • Create short FAQs or articles on accounting, compliance, and governance topics
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NFP accounting and Australian compliance
  • Support ad hoc financial projects and process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA or CA qualification (or currently completing)
  • Xero Certified Advisor
  • Strong skills in Excel and Google Sheets
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Experience with any of the following is an advantage: Spotlight Reporting, Google Suite, Freshdesk, Jetpack, Dext/ReceiptBank, Slack

Nice to have

  • Experience in not-for-profit (NFP) accounting
  • Familiarity with Australian accounting standards or tax compliance
