Laundry Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY: 

In accordance with the policies, procedures and standards of Melco Resorts Leisure (PHP) Corporation, the Laundry Attendant is responsible for delivering a quality customer service experience through the proper and excellent laundry cleaning procedures of guest clothes, staff uniforms and other clothing items as requested.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Remains responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean staff uniforms and other clothing garments for the entire company in accordance with the established care instructions to ensure the highest quality outcome and excellent guest service and financial profitability.
2.    Performs all stages of processing of garments necessary for the business operations including sorting, weighing, washing, drying, dry cleaning , ironing or  pressing and folding of guests and staff uniform to the highest level of standard.
3.    Remains responsible in providing quality standard of guest laundry in an efficient and timely manner.
4.    Uses discretion when operating different machines in relation to kind of garments, types of materials, correct timing and amount of pressure to be used. Liaise with guests to ascertain expectations regarding garment processing and returning/delivering garments to guests, as instructed, in a timely manner.
5.    Accepts understanding in handling all equipment in washing, dry cleaning, drying and pressing and handle all chemicals in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and safety including the reporting of any maintenance or hazardous issues.
6.    Maintains record of inventory and adequate stock levels of all supplies by weekly stocktaking and reporting to Supervisor.
7.    Completes and submit Production Control sheets in a timely and accurate manner.
8.    Processes related guest charges and balances daily figures.
9.    Maintains a clean, safe and clutter free work area to ensure maximum safety and productivity.
10.    Cleans and maintains all dry cleaning equipment regularly.
11.    Inspects guest items and staff uniforms for damage, lost property, reporting to guests and superior anything identified.
12.    Collects, sorts, marks, packs and returns guest items in appropriate packaging in a timely and courteous manner when required.

13.    Executes Kaizen initiates consistently.
14.    Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
15.    Reports damage or mechanical problems, accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to supervisors.
16.    Performs any other duties as maybe assigned by immediate supervisors.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

I.    Experience

1.    At least 6 months working experience in a large scale commercial laundry, or in a five (5) star hotel with full service laundry facility
2.    Knowledgeable  of all types of laundry equipment/machine

II.    Education 

1.    At least college level
2.    Computer literate
3.    Adequate level of communication skills, both oral and written

III.    Skills / Competencies 

1.    Can do multi-tasking.
2.    Good team player with positive "can do" attitude.
3.    Self-motivated and responsible. 
4.    Ability to work on flexible shift including overnight, weekends and holidays on rotation basis. 
5.    Ability to work on extended hours or render overtime, when needed.
6.    Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 kilograms on frequent basis without assistance.
7.    Must be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environments such as, but not limited to chemicals, noise, dust, heat and fragrances. 
8.    Is flexible to work and be able to step in, if and when required to assist team members with other tasks and/or as directed by the supervisors.
