About the role

Cebu Landmasters, Inc. is seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our growing team in Cebu City, Cebu. As a full-time Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in will in designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure to support the data management initiatives. This role focuses on developing robust data repositories, such as data warehouse/lake, to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and management of large volumes of data across CLI. The Data Engineer will also work on data cleaning and preparation, ensuring the accuracy and quality of critical data sets, including customer and financial data.

What you'll be doing

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures, including data warehouse or/and data lakes.
  • Develop and implement ELT (extract, transform, load) processes to integrate data from various sources into data repositories
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy by developing and enforcing data quality standards
  • Perform data cleaning, transforming, and preparation tasks to crate reliable datasets for analysis and automation
  • Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency and accessibility
  • Collaborate with different departments and partners to streamline data flow and eliminate data silos
  • Optimize data performances, ensuring fast query response times and efficient data retrieval
  • Automate data processing tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Scala) to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Monitor and tune data systems for optimal performance and scalability
  • Works with data analysts, data administrators and business stakeholders to understand the needs and develop solutions that will meet those needs

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
  • Proficient in Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Airflow)
  • Hands-on experience with data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modelling
  • Has certifications and/or trainings on programming languages, data frameworks, SQL and data querying languages, data warehousing tools, cloud platforms, data integration tools, and version control systems
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) (a plus).
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) (a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business-friendly solutions
