Aboveground Storage Inspectors

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) Inspector certified to API 653 standards to join our inspection and integrity management team. The role is responsible for conducting thorough inspections, evaluations, and documentation of aboveground storage tanks to ensure compliance with industry codes, regulatory requirements, and company safety standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity, safety, and reliability of our tank assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform internal, external, and in-service inspections of aboveground storage tanks in accordance with API 653, API 650, API 570, and other applicable standards.
• Evaluate tank conditions, including shell, floor, roof, nozzles, and appurtenances, to identify corrosion, settlement, leaks, and structural deficiencies.
• Conduct fitness-for-service assessments and prepare detailed inspection reports with findings, repair recommendations, and reinspection intervals.
• Monitor and oversee tank repairs, alterations, and reconstruction activities to ensure compliance with codes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Review construction drawings, inspection plans, welding procedures, and repair documentation.
• Ensure tanks meet all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including environmental and safety regulations.
• Maintain inspection records and contribute to long-term asset integrity planning.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to develop and implement corrective action plans.
• Provide technical expertise in root cause analysis and failure investigations related to tank integrity.

Required Qualifications

• API 653 Certification (Aboveground Storage Tank Inspector) – mandatory.
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant inspection experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial facilities.
• Strong knowledge of API 650, API 620, API 570, ASME, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
• Familiarity with NDE techniques (UT, RT, MT, PT, VT) and ability to interpret results.
• Proficient in generating technical inspection reports and documentation.
• Strong understanding of safety and environmental compliance related to tank operations.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field under varied site conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications (API 570 – Piping, API 510 – Pressure Vessel Inspector, NACE coatings certification, or AWS CWI).
• Experience with asset integrity management systems and inspection planning software.
• Knowledge of cathodic protection systems and corrosion control methods.
• Previous experience in tank construction supervision or repair QA/QC oversight.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Php200,000.00 per month
