Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Assistant - Fire Protection

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design: Develop fire protection system designs, including sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and smoke control systems, in compliance with local and national fire codes.
  • Project Management: Oversee fire protection projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
  • Analysis and Evaluation: Conduct risk assessments and analyses to determine fire protection needs for various facilities, considering factors like occupancy type and building layout.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate fire protection systems into building designs.
  • Testing and Maintenance: Implement testing protocols for fire protection systems and perform routine inspections to ensure compliance and functionality.
  • Documentation: Create detailed drawings, specifications, and reports for fire protection systems and maintain records of system designs and modifications.
  • Training: Provide training to staff on fire safety practices and proper use of fire protection equipment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all fire protection designs comply with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in fire protection engineering or systems design.
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards, as well as local fire codes.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of fire protection engineering principles and practices.
