ROLE STATEMENT

The individual performing the role of
Sr Test Analyst
has the responsibility of leading the planning, preparation,

execution and reporting of testing activities across large and complex projects. The role should ensure that

testing activities follow appropriate testing methodologies and contribute to ongoing development and

improvement of business performance.

Prior to entering this role, the individual should have satisfied all criteria, qualifications, knowledge, tasks

and experience in the following roles:


• Associate Test Analyst


• Test Analyst / Hybrid Test Analyst


• Senior Test Analyst / Senior Hybrid Test Analyst

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE:

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent

Knowledge of software development and testing methodologies:


• Explain a variety of functional and non-functional testing activities


• Describe agile software development methods or approaches


• Describe the pros and cons of agile software development


• Describe the pros and cons of waterfall software development


• Describe the Software Development Life Cycle and how testing interacts with other activities


• Explain the difference between black box and white box testing


• Explain what the Waterfall methodology is


• Explain what the V Model is


• Explain what a risk is, what an issue is and the difference between these


• Explain what is meant by non-functional testing


• Explain what relational databases are


• Explain what virtualisation is


• Understand the possible inputs (documents and other) to test analysis


• Explain the considerations in approach for testing web services


• Explain the considerations in approach for testing websites


• Explain the considerations in approach for testing mobile websites and applications


• Can explain the difference between customer service and customer experience

EXPERIENCE


• As a guide it is expected that the person performing this role has 5 plus years' experience in

testing including experience in leading small teams


• Experience using range of test management tools


• Experience using a range of defect tracking tools


• Experience conducting testing on a range of systems and technologies


• Experience working on large testing projects and multi-vendor environments


• Customer service experience is desirable
