Job Summary

The Machine Mold Technician is responsible for performing mold setup, installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of injection molding machines. The role ensures that molds are properly prepared, functioning efficiently, and maintained according to quality and safety standards to support smooth production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mold setup, installation, and removal on injection molding machines based on production schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspection, cleaning, and preventive maintenance of molds to ensure proper condition and readiness.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mold defects, machine issues, and production abnormalities to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all molds are properly lubricated, aligned, and secured before operation.
  • Assist in performing mold repairs, including polishing, replacing components, and adjusting mold parts as necessary.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure product outputs meet specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance, repairs, and adjustments.
  • Follow company safety guidelines, 5S standards, and proper handling of tools and equipment.
  • Monitor machine performance and report any abnormalities to the immediate supervisor.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance mold performance and production efficiency.

Qualifications

  • At least Vocational/Technical Graduate in Mechanical, Industrial, or related fields.
  • With 1–2 years of experience in mold maintenance, mold preparation, or injection molding operations (newly trained applicants may also be considered, depending on company standards).
  • Ability to read technical drawings is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
