The IT Specialist ensures the efficient and secure operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes resolving hardware and software issues, managing networks and databases, supporting technical operations, and ensuring data security and system reliability. The role plays a key part in system upgrades, vendor coordination, and project implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Server Administration (20%)
Manage and provision user accounts with secure access controls.
- Enforce password policies and multi-factor authentication.
- Administer key systems like Accounting software and Google Workspace.
Perform system audits and manage backups for business continuity.
Network Administration (20%)
Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, resolve issues related to bandwidth and latency.
- Implement firewalls, VPNs, and network security tools to defend against cyber threats.
Maintain disaster recovery plans and backup strategies.
Database Administration & Information Security (30%)
Design and maintain databases for efficiency and compliance with data privacy standards.
Conduct regular backups, implement encryption, and manage user access to sensitive information.
Technical Support Management (30%)
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, including repairs and system upgrades.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT equipment.
- Coordinate with vendors on procurement and implementation of new technologies.
- Assess risks and implement mitigation strategies for system changes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in IT infrastructure and support roles.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, and database management.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Other: Basic knowledge of Environment, Health, and Safety practices.
