About the Role

We are seeking an SMSF Accountant to join our growing team. This role is designed for someone with hands-on experience in Australian SMSF compliance and administration. You will work closely with senior SMSF accountants and managers to deliver accurate and timely SMSF accounts and returns while developing your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare basic SMSF financial statements and tax returns under guidance.
  • Process member contributions, pensions, rollovers, and investment reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparing workpapers for audit and compliance.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian SMSF regulations and ATO requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior SMSF accountants and auditors to resolve queries.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for SMSF clients.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of SMSF experience in an Australian accounting firm (mandatory).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Knowledge of SMSF accounting software (BGL, Class Super, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of SMSF administration (contributions, pensions, rollovers).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in compliance work.
