The WordPress Developer is responsible for building and maintaining websites using WordPress. This includes developing custom themes, implementing front-end designs, managing plugins, and ensuring responsive, high-performance output. The role also ensures full utilization of development capacity to meet campaign and client needs efficiently.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The WordPress Developer is accountable for the successful execution of web-related deliverables. This includes theme and plugin development, front-end integration, and ensuring the quality, performance, and security of WordPress sites. The developer also monitors their productivity and quality in alignment with departmental KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Onboarding & Scoping
    - Participate in client onboarding sessions and technical scoping discussions.
    - Offer input on design feasibility, theme development, and plugin integration strategies.

  2. WordPress Development
    - Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins.
    - Figma/Photoshop designs into dynamic WordPress sites.
    - Ensure websites are responsive, accessible, and cross-browser compatible.
    - Implement and configure SEO tools, caching, and security best practices.

  3. Quality Assurance
    - Adhere to QA guidelines and coding standards.
    - Conduct site testing and ensure that revisions are executed accurately and efficiently.

  4. Performance Monitoring
    - Track and enhance individual quality scores and productivity metrics.
    - Take ownership of assigned projects and meet established deadlines and quality benchmarks.

  5. Capacity & Communication
    - Monitor and report personal workload and availability.
    - Raise concerns related to bandwidth, technical blockers, or tools to the Web Project Manager proactively.

  6. Tools & Process Improvement
    - Provide feedback on tools and development workflows; suggest upgrades or replacements when needed.
    - Collaborate in improving service offerings, workflow automation, and development efficiency.

  7. Team & Stakeholder Alignment
    - Attend team meetings and alignment sessions.
    - Share progress updates, challenges, and solutions to maintain project visibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 2 years of demonstrable experience as a WordPress developer.

  • Ad Agency experience is a must

  • Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, themes, and plugins.

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP for WordPress development.

  • Experience with responsive web design and mobile-friendly website development.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality and visually appealing websites.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Knowledge of SEO best practices for website optimization.
