Job Overview
As a Junior Trader at Onyx Capital APAC, you'll be part of a high-performing team driving our trading activities within the oil derivatives markets. This role blends analytical rigor, market awareness, and operational execution, giving you hands-on exposure to real-world trading dynamics at one of the world's leading liquidity providers. You'll support strategy development, risk oversight, and trade execution to help deliver consistent performance in a fast-paced global market.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of trading strategies across oil derivatives.
• Assist with monitoring market trends, positioning and P&L in alignment with Onyx's risk framework.
• Analyse pricing, liquidity and market behaviour to identify opportunities and risks.
• Work closely with senior traders to implement and refine models and tactics.
• Collaborate across teams (operations, risk, finance) to ensure smooth trade lifecycle processes.
• Prepare and present concise market updates and trader notes to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years' experience in trading, risk, or market analysis, experience in oil/energy markets is a plus but not mandatory.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of financial markets and derivatives products.
• Excellent communicator, able to articulate insights clearly.
