Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Laravel.
  • Integrate and support Livewire components for dynamic interfaces.
  • Work with MySQL/PostgreSQL databases: schema design, queries, migrations, and optimizations.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and secure data handling.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure smooth integration between backend logic and UIs.
  • Participate in code reviews, write clean and maintainable code, and follow best practices.
  • Assist in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Write basic unit and feature tests in Laravel to ensure code reliability.
  • Work with Git for version control and collaborate via pull requests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Solid understanding of PHP and Laravel framework fundamentals (routes, controllers, models, migrations, Eloquent ORM).
  • Basic knowledge of Livewire and how it ties into Laravel.
  • Familiarity with MySQL/PostgreSQL and database design principles.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and backend logic.
  • Exposure to frontend technologies (Tailwind CSS, ) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Git and basic CI/CD workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Laravel Horizon, Queues, or Events.
  • Familiarity with Laravel Breeze, Jetstream, or Fortify for authentication.
  • Basic testing experience with PHPUnit or Pest.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.).
  • Understanding of clean architecture or SOLID principles.

Soft Skills

  • Eagerness to learn and grow in backend development.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to take feedback and improve iteratively.
  • Proactive attitude in problem-solving.
