Staff Nurse

Educational Requirements:

  • Must be a holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a college or university that complies with the standards of nursing education duly recognized by the proper government agency.
  • Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination (PNLE) Board Passer

Key Responsibilities of a Registered Nurse in the Philippines:

  • Patient Care:
  • Direct Patient Care: Providing bedside care, administering medications, changing dressings, monitoring patient conditions, and assisting with daily activities.
  • Assessing Patient Needs: Evaluating patients' physical and mental health, identifying potential problems, and developing individualized care plans.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Observing and recording patient symptoms, vital signs, and other relevant information, and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Working with the Healthcare Team: Collaborating with physicians, other nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Communicating with Patients and Families: Educating patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and preventative care measures.
  • Maintaining Records:
  • Documenting Patient Information: Accurately recording patient information, including vital signs, medications administered, treatments provided, and any changes in the patient's condition.
  • Ensuring Safety and Hygiene:
  • Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensuring that the patient's environment is clean, safe, and free from hazards.
  • Following Infection Control Protocols: Adhering to infection control procedures to prevent the spread of infections.
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with Procedures: Assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including surgeries.
  • Participating in Educational Activities: Participating in educational programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Supervising and Training: Supervising and training other healthcare professionals, such as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistants.
