Job Summary

The Truck Porter assists drivers and logistics personnel by ensuring vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and properly loaded/unloaded. The role also involves minor maintenance, safety checks, and general operational support for the trucking fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Maintenance and Preparation

  • Clean truck interiors and exteriors to ensure vehicles meet company and safety standards.
  • Conduct basic vehicle inspections, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and lights.
  • Report any mechanical issues or damage to the fleet manager.

Loading and Unloading

  • Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling and placement.
  • Secure cargo using straps, ropes, or other tools to prevent damage during transit.
  • Confirm that loads comply with weight and safety regulations.

Operational Support

  • Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely departure and delivery schedules.
  • Perform safety checks on trucks and trailers, including inspecting brakes, lights, and coupling systems.
  • Assist in the parking, repositioning, or staging of trucks in the yard.
