Job Brief
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Paralegal to support a legal practice across a diverse range of matters. You will be working closely with a senior lawyer and senior paralegal on conveyancing, leasing, estate planning, and probate cases. This role requires someone with strong file management skills, a deep understanding of NSW legal procedures, and the ability to independently manage matters from start to finish.
Responsibilities
Manage residential and commercial conveyancing files from instruction to settlement
Assist with the preparation and review of commercial and retail leases, including full lease drafting
Support estate planning and probate matters, including drafting Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and managing estate administration tasks
Draft legal documents and correspondence with clients, agents, and third parties
Liaise with clients, government bodies, and stakeholders throughout all stages of each file
Perform general legal administrative tasks, including file opening/closing, document management, and office support
Collaborate with a senior lawyer and senior paralegal across multiple areas of law
Requirements
Demonstrated experience working as a Paralegal in NSW, particularly in conveyancing, leasing, and estates
Proven ability to independently manage files with minimal supervision
Strong working knowledge of NSW legal procedures and documentation requirements
Proficiency in preparing entire lease documentation and understanding lease structures
Excellent time management, organisational, and multitasking abilities
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in legal drafting
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
A client-focused approach and ability to maintain confidentiality
Desirable
Familiarity with legal software and conveyancing platforms (e.g. LEAP, PEXA, InfoTrack)
Experience in small to mid-sized firms with exposure to multiple practice areas
Previous involvement in probate court filings, lodging documents with NSW Land Registry Services, or similar tasks
Ability to interpret legislation and apply legal principles practically
Software Proficiency
Legal practice management systems (e.g. LEAP, Actionstep, or similar)
PEXA, InfoTrack, and relevant online platforms
Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (especially Word, Outlook, Excel)
CRM or client intake systems (optional)
Personal Attributes
Professional, client-service focused, and emotionally intelligent
Confident in managing priorities and deadlines independently
Team-oriented and willing to support broader office and practice operations
Proactive problem-solver with a genuine interest in legal processes
Discreet and trustworthy in handling confidential and sensitive information
Time Zone: Australian Business Hours
