About the Role

We are seeking a highly accomplished Chief Actuary to lead the end-to-end actuarial function of our life insurance portfolio. This senior leadership role serves as the organization's technical authority on pricing, valuation, and actuarial governance—while driving strategic insights that enable sustainable growth and long-term shareholder value.

The ideal leader balances rigorous actuarial discipline with strong commercial judgment, innovation, and team development.

Key Responsibilities1. Pricing Leadership

  • Establish, review, and approve pricing bases, profit tests, and reinsurance structures.
  • Partner with Product teams to design and deliver innovative, customer-centric product solutions.

2. Valuation & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee quarterly and annual IFRS 17 valuations, embedded value reporting, and experience studies.
  • Sign off actuarial components of financial statements and all regulatory submissions.

3. Actuarial Governance

  • Maintain and uphold actuarial policies, professional standards, and model governance frameworks.
  • Serve as primary liaison with regulators and external auditors.

4. Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing actuarial team with strong succession pipelines.
  • Champion automation, analytics, and advanced modelling techniques within the actuarial function.

5. Strategic Insight & Business Partnership

  • Translate complex actuarial results into meaningful insights for ExCo and Board decision-making.
  • Deliver scenario analysis and forward-looking projections to support strategic planning and portfolio optimization.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, Group Office, and the broader conglomerate to support enterprise-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Professional Status: Fellow Actuary recognized by the Insurance Commission (IC) for accreditation.
  • Experience: 10+ years in life insurance actuarial roles, with at least 5 years in leadership or Appointed Actuary capacity.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Deep knowledge of life products, reinsurance, embedded value frameworks, and IFRS 17
  • Strong proficiency in actuarial modelling systems and data analytics tools
  • Regulatory Insight: Strong understanding of local solvency rules and regulatory governance.
  • Commercial Acumen: Proven ability to turn actuarial insights into profitable business strategies.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and ability to influence C-suite and Board-level decisions.

Working Arrangement:

Hybrid- 3x onsite in Makati

Regular Working Hours

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php300, Php400,000.00 per month
