We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic team at LEC STEEL MANUFACTURING CORP. in Quezon City, Metro Manila. As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement and inventory processes that support our manufacturing operations. What you'll be doing

  1. Researching, evaluating and selecting suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, components and other supplies
  2. Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing
  3. Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to maintain optimal stock levels
  4. Collaborating with production and logistics teams to align purchasing activities with manufacturing requirements
  5. Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements in procurement
  6. Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all purchasing transactions
  7. Preparing procurement reports and analyzing data to support strategic decision-making

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing industry or construction industry
  2. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  4. Proficiency in inventory management and forecasting techniques
  5. Solid understanding of procurement processes, regulations and best practices
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  7. Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications
