Global Supply & Crisis Intelligence Analyst

Location: Remote

Type: Full-Time | Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

About the Role

We are seeking a sharp, globally aware analyst to identify and report on supply shortages, backorders, and major world events that could affect global trade and logistics. This role combines real-time intelligence, research, and strategic analysis — helping our teams anticipate disruptions and seize new opportunities across markets. You will track shortages not only in medical products but also in food, agriculture (seeds, grains, coffee, etc.), raw materials, energy, electronics, and construction materials (steel, copper, cement, etc.) — as well as monitor global catastrophes, wars, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, and geopolitical shifts that may influence supply and demand.

Key Responsibilities

● Monitor global news sources, government alerts, trade reports, and social media to detect early signs of shortages or disruptions.

● Track backorders and production delays in key industries worldwide.

● Follow developments in agriculture, food, energy, metals, and construction materials to predict potential market impacts.

● Report on catastrophes, epidemics, conflicts, and logistics bottlenecks that affect regional or global supply chains.

● Produce daily or weekly intelligence briefs summarizing key findings, including affected products, regions, causes, and potential opportunities.

● Build and maintain a real-time watchlist using tools like Google Alerts, Feedly, TweetDeck/X search, and AI-based monitoring platforms.

● Work with the sourcing and procurement teams to verify intelligence and identify suppliers or buyers affected by the disruption.

● Create visual dashboards or summaries (in Excel, Notion, or ) to organize ongoing shortages by category and region.

Ideal Candidate

● Strong research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.

● Deep curiosity about global markets, trade, and supply dynamics.

● Background in economics, journalism, supply chain, or intelligence research preferred.

● Ability to verify data accuracy and distinguish credible sources from rumors.

● Comfortable using online tools, data scrapers, or automation software (e.g., n8n, Zapier, News API).

● Excellent written English and reporting skills.

Performance Metrics

● Number of verified shortage or crisis alerts reported weekly.

● Timeliness and relevance of intelligence briefs.

● Actionable insights that directly support sourcing, logistics, or resale decisions.

● Ability to forecast and flag potential risks before they become mainstream news.
