Job Summary:

The Oncology Nurse provides specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. The role involves administering chemotherapy, managing treatment side effects, monitoring patient progress, and offering emotional support to patients and their families. The Oncology Nurse collaborates with physicians, pharmacists, and the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective treatment while promoting holistic patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology-related medications safely.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, including response to treatment and side effects.
  • Provide patient and family education on treatment plans, medications, and self-care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols in handling cytotoxic drugs and hazardous materials.
  • Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and families throughout treatment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development in oncology nursing.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid PRC license (or equivalent regulatory requirement).
  • Preferably with hospital experience in oncology, chemotherapy administration, or related areas.
  • Certification or training in chemotherapy administration is an advantage.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered, and able to provide holistic care.
