Job Qualifications:

  • At least One (1) year experience as Safety Officer (SO) II in a Fabrication, Construction or Manufacturing company.
  • Graduate of Vocational Courses or any Four (4) year courses.
  • Completed mandatory 40-hour Construction Occupational Safety & Health (COSH ) training course.
  • Experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety audits is a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable with documentation, reporting, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills: able to train, orient, work with teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the implementation of effective safety and health management system that ensure compliance to environmental regulations and to the local regulations, and recording of all incidents and verifying that effective corrective and preventive actions were taken.
  • Continuously reviews and audits production facilities for safety compliance; manages the tools and processes to monitor and ensure achievement of performance targets; qualifies waste disposal/ treatment facilities.
  • Proactively identifies emerging work health and safety issues on the local and national levels, develop effective strategies and systems to issues and translates strategies into department goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong, credible relationship with external agencies including government and non-government organizations and leverages these relationships to the advantages of the company.
  • Review the necessary resources to meet short- and long-term objectives of Occupational Safety and Health, allocate required resources and deliver feedback for personal and organizational impact; identify and advise for the environmental requirements for all new capital projects.
  • Develop/establish relevant and appropriate Safety and Health programs and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough and careful analysis and investigation of accident / incidents and deliver quality solution.
  • Constantly stay abreast with company and industry activities to ensure that the company maintains a good record with respect to Health and Safety compliance.
  • Act as liaison officer for government agencies on Occupational Safety and Health. Formal communication with regulatory authorities, including reporting of all compliance information for permits and regulations, occur regularly. Monitoring developments in environmental legislation and regulations, including the development in local environmental issues and interested parties' views
  • Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned.
