Line and Grade Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surveying and Layout:

  • Perform site surveys and establish control points, elevations, and reference benchmarks.

  • Set out lines, grades, and elevations based on construction drawings and project plans.
  • Verify the accuracy of dimensions, alignment, and elevation during construction.

  • Coordination:

  • Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and foremen for proper execution of works.

  • Liaise with surveyors, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Monitoring and Verification:

  • Conduct periodic checks on the accuracy of line and grade during construction.

  • Monitor any changes in design or field conditions that may affect alignment or levels.
  • Ensure that all survey and layout works comply with project specifications and safety standards.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain records of layout data, survey logs, and as-built measurements.

  • Report discrepancies or potential conflicts to the project management team for resolution.

  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and turnover documents.

  • Quality and Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure all layout activities are performed following safety protocols.

  • Contribute to maintaining quality standards by verifying that constructed works match design specifications.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geodetic.
  • Licensed Engineer is advantage but not required.
  • Proven experience in line and grade or surveying works in construction projects.
  • Proficiency in survey instruments (Total Station, Theodolite, GPS, Auto Level) and CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
