As part of our continued growth, we're seeking a Takeoff Specialist to support our estimating and project coordination teams with accurate, detailed material and takeoffs for upcoming projects.

About the Role

The Takeoff Specialist will be responsible for reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, performing material and quantity takeoffs, and assisting with cost estimating and proposal preparation.

This individual must have a sharp eye for detail, strong construction knowledge, and the ability to translate plans into precise data for bids and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Project Takeoffs & Estimating

• Analyze blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine material and labor requirements.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using estimating software and manual calculations.
• Prepare detailed spreadsheets or reports outlining quantities, materials, and associated costs.
• Work closely with the estimating and project management teams to support bid preparation.
• Assist in developing and maintaining cost databases for labor, materials, and equipment.

Coordination & Support

• Collaborate with field teams, project managers, and subcontractors to confirm scope and specifications.
• Identify and document project risks, scope gaps, and discrepancies in drawings.
• Support the creation of proposals and bid packages for clients.
• Help improve estimating templates, workflows, and takeoff accuracy over time.

Quality & Efficiency

• Maintain organized documentation and file management for all takeoff projects.
• Ensure takeoffs are completed on schedule and meet internal quality standards.
• Continuously look for process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience as a Takeoff Specialist, Estimator, or Construction Coordinator.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, materials, and methods.
• Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software such as Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, or similar tools.
• Excellent Excel or Google Sheets skills for reporting and data management.
• Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial construction.
• Familiarity with labor cost analysis, subcontractor coordination, and bid management.
