Cyber Incident Response Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initial incident triage by assessing severity, scope, and potential impact, and mobilizing the appropriate response teams.
  • Develop, improve, and implement incident response (IR) plans, processes, runbooks, and playbooks.
  • Coordinate and guide IR teams, technical groups, and key stakeholders to effectively contain threats and minimize operational disruption.
  • Provide timely and clear communication to stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners, regarding incident status, risks, and response progress.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and root-cause analyses to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of incident activities, findings, timelines, and actions for reporting and compliance.
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, frameworks, and best practices; recommend enhancements to policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats, risks, attack vectors, and defensive tools and techniques.
  • Minimum of 3 years leading or coordinating incident response activities across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, including on-call shifts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to simplify complex technical issues for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills to manage discussions and decision-making during high-pressure scenarios.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred certifications: GIAC (e.g., GCIH, GCIA), CompTIA Security+, or similar cybersecurity credentials.
