The
Cyber Incident Response Coordinator
is fundamentally responsible for
driving and facilitating the end-to-end Incident Response (IR) process
. This role serves as the central
communication nexus
, leveraging email, phone, and in-person meetings to disseminate incident information and orchestrate the activities of the IR team and relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initial Triage & Team Mobilization:
    Swiftly assess the severity of a security incident and assemble the correct Incident Response team members.
  • Program Development & Enhancement:
    Create, refine, and enforce incident response plans and protocols to guarantee a prompt and effective reaction to security incidents and cyberattacks.
  • Response Coordination:
    Manage and coordinate the efforts of various security incident response teams and other involved parties to successfully contain threats and mitigate damage.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    Maintain clear and regular communication with all relevant parties, including senior management and external partners, providing timely updates on the status of incidents and response actions.
  • Process Improvement:
    Lead and conduct thorough post-incident reviews and analyses to identify gaps and recommend improvements for existing IR plans and procedures.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    Maintain meticulous records and comprehensive documentation of all security incident activities for subsequent analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge Leadership:
    Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, best practices, and threat intelligence, and propose necessary modifications to security policies and procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Educational Background:
    A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Deep and comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity threats, risks, and the complete range of tools and methodologies used for cyberattack prevention and response.
  • Experience in Leadership:
    A minimum of
    3 years
    of experience in a role focused on leading and coordinating Incident Response efforts across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Availability:
    Must be willing to adhere to a
    flexible and "on-call" work schedule
    to address critical incidents outside of standard hours.
  • Communication Mastery:
    Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, including the critical skill of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Meeting Facilitation:
    Proven capacity to manage the direction of discussions and negotiate effectively during high-stakes meetings.
  • Work Style:
    Demonstrated ability to excel both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, managing competing priorities and strict deadlines efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Certifications:
    Possession of relevant industry certifications, such as
    GIAC
    (Global Information Assurance Certification) or
    CompTIA Security+
