Landscape Architect BIM Technician

WSP, a world leading management and consultancy firm, is seeking Landscape Architect BIM Technician to join the Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Team. THE POSITION

To provide a supporting consultancy services to the design office in landscape architecture & urban design.

What you'll do:

• Assistance to design office in the preparation of bid documents, presentation materials and technical deliverables;

• Carrying out design and documentation in accordance with the project brief;

• Carrying out all administrative tasks associated with the assigned project including all reporting on job progress;

• Effective liaison with design office where appropriate

• Design experience in infrastructure projects, parks, streetscape, public spaces and recreational facilities is preferable

• An ability to research and produce information relating to contemporary approaches to urban design and landscape design for production of reports.

• Has an ability to communicate and integrate with other design disciplines to ensure a well-coordinated approach.

• Ensuring all work undertaken is in accordance with appropriate professional and technical standards and practices of New Zealand together with effective Quality Assurance.

• Has strong Revit, Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and rendering capabilities including Lumion / Enscape / 3Dmax

• Has strong hand sketching and rendering skill to create on-the-fly visuals

• Maintain regular and clear communication between the design manager and the design office

• Provide input/leadership to project teams to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality.

• Actively seek feedback from project teams reflecting on the performance of the team and apply knowledge learning principles.

• Keep professional registrations/licenses current.

• Through the formal Performance Review process, establish personal development needs/goals.

• Keep up-to-date with developments in the relevant professional area.

• Develop and maintain a network of technical/professional support.

• Regularly reflect on your successes and disappointments and ensure that your service delivery is improved through on-going innovation and adopting new practices. Share these findings with your team members.

• Relevant training requirements for your role are identified and undertaken as appropriate.

• Emergency procedures are understood and followed.

• Any hazards arising from or associated with projects or activities undertaken are identified, reported and managed including self-management where appropriate.

What we will love about you:

• Bachelor of Landscape Architecture / Urban Design / Architecture / Multimedia Arts or related discipline

• Minimum of 3 - 4 years' professional experience.

• Strong design ability and good manual and digital graphic presentation skills with extra credit given to 3D / BIM modelling & graphic capabilities.

• Good desktop publishing and graphic software knowledge specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Expertise in collaborative design environment, ability to work closely with a broad range of internal and external design partners.

• 3D modelling skills in Revit and SketchUp

• Rendering expertise including Revit plugins: Lumion / Enscape / Vray

• Computer literate in Revit, CAD, Sketchup, Indesign and Photoshop – Experience in preparing 3D models, visualisations, and graphic reports.

• Freehand sketching and rendering is required.

• App development knowledge is a plus.

• Results orientated, with a reputation for, and demonstrated achievement of, key strategic priorities.

• Able to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion.

• Excellent self-management skills, including working effectively without direct supervision, managing and organising fluctuating workloads in sometimes stressful situations.

• Able to personally cope with ambiguity and change.

• Able to work effectively and competently with people at all levels; within and external to the organisation.
