The Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the daily operations of accounting functions, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and enforce compliance with financial regulations. You will lead a team of accountants and collaborate closely with other departments to support the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management

• Strategic Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse and international accounting team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional growth, ensuring that team members are empowered to achieve high performance.
• Task Delegation & Performance Monitoring: Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance to ensure that deadlines, quality standards, and business objectives are consistently met.
• Expert Guidance: Provide expert support in managing complex accounting tasks and resolving challenging issues, promoting innovative problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior leaders and various cross-functional teams to align accounting initiatives with broader business strategies and ensure transparent, seamless communication.

Month-End and Year-End Closing

• Efficient Financial Closings: Oversee and streamline the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
• Quality Assurance: Review and approve complex journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations, maintaining the integrity of financial data and ensuring adherence to global accounting standards and policies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements, mitigating risks and ensuring consistency across all regions.

Internal Controls and Compliance

• Robust Control Environment: Establish, maintain, and enforce rigorous internal controls and accounting policies to protect company assets and enhance operational efficiency.
• Best Practices Implementation: Continuously evaluate accounting practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement industry best practices to strengthen internal controls.
• Tax Compliance: Oversee the preparation and timely filing of tax returns, including sales tax, income tax, and other statutory filings, ensuring strict adherence to regional and international requirements.

Policy and Process Development, and Training & Development Facilitation

• Policy and Process Development: Develop and implement comprehensive internal control frameworks, policies, and procedures that streamline accounting processes and standardize best practices across global teams.
• Training & Development Facilitation: Design and lead training programs and workshops to ensure that all team members are proficient in the latest internal controls, policies, and industry practices. Proactively identify knowledge gaps and implement strategic learning initiatives.
• Documentation and Guidelines: Produce detailed manuals, guidelines, and process documentation to serve as a consistent reference for accounting operations, supporting both compliance and operational excellence.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal audit teams and senior leadership to monitor adherence to policies, evaluate the effectiveness of controls, and drive continuous process enhancements.

Process Improvement and System Optimization

• Continuous Process Enhancement: Regularly assess and refine accounting processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
• System Migrations & Upgrades: Lead system migration projects and enhancements with minimal operational disruption, ensuring that new systems integrate seamlessly with existing processes.
• Technology Integration: Leverage extensive experience with Dynamics 360 to optimize accounting workflows, improve data accuracy, and drive innovation in financial reporting and system efficiency.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

• Strategic Financial Insights: Collaborate with senior finance leaders to deliver actionable insights into financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making through robust reporting and analysis.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, using advanced analytical tools to guide financial strategy and operational planning.

The Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.
• A minimum of 10+ years in global accounting roles with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated expertise in Dynamics 360 is a must, strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
• Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills, with a strong ability to manage and inspire a global team in a dynamic business environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas).
• Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse complex financial data.
• Ability to identify trends, inconsistencies, and discrepancies in financial reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
