1. Supervise the creation of job postings and the collection of applications from both internal and external sources, including but not limited to:
a. Social media platforms
b. Walk-in applicants
c. On-site and off-site recruitment activities (job fairs, school visits, industry events)
d. Employee and industry referrals
e. Other relevant online and offline recruitment platforms
2. Actively source applicants outside of the office through field recruitment, partner institutions, industry networks, and outreach initiatives to ensure a steady and diverse talent pool.
3. Source, screen, assess, and interview candidates for:
a. Officers and ratings for traditional ships and offshore rigs
b. Cruise ships, commercial vessels, and yachts
4. Ensure that the quality of applicants meets or exceeds the principals' requirements and standards.
Verify the authenticity and validity of applicants' submitted documents, certifications, and credentials.
6. Facilitate the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to technical and hotel recruitment, screening, and hiring processes.
7. Develop and maintain strong network relationships within the maritime industry and the UPL HR Ecosystem.
8. Conduct hotel and technical interviews of applicants, both in-office and during off-site recruitment activities.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of hospitality and technical training programs aligned with recruitment needs.
10. Prepare and submit recruitment reports and assessments covering hotel and technical sourcing, screening, and hiring activities.
11. Monitor and track the list of applicants endorsed to principals, including their interview results and hiring status.
12. Coordinate with the recruitment team regarding the scheduling of applicants for interviews, testing, and assessments.
13. Maintain direct communication with principals regarding recruitment concerns, applicant status, and manpower requirements.
14. Maintain direct communication with management regarding recruitment updates, challenges, and recommendations.
15. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Sourcing and Recruitment Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, HR, Business Administration, Marine-related courses, or any related field.
- 2-3 years recruitment experience, ideally in crewing/manning, maritime hiring, or high-volume recruitment.
- Knowledge of seafarer documentation, STCW certificates, medical requirements, and industry standards (an advantage).
- Familiarity with job platforms and sourcing tools for seafarers.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple vacancies.
- Proficient in MS Office or Google Workspace.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deployment timelines.
