  • Installation: Install new refrigeration and air conditioning units, including cutting and fitting piping, connecting electrical wiring, and setting up components according to technical plans.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems run efficiently and to prevent future breakdowns.
  • Repair: Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, identify the root cause of malfunctions, and repair or replace defective parts, such as faulty components, valves, or pumps.
  • Leak detection: Inspect systems for refrigerant leaks and perform necessary repairs to address them.
  • Safety and compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety and environmental regulations, including proper use of equipment and handling of refrigerants.
  • Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and instruments to test systems and their components to pinpoint and resolve problems.
  • Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including repairs and parts used.
  • Customer service: Interact professionally with clients while on-site to provide information and excellent service.

Skills and qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with a variety of refrigeration systems, from residential units to complex industrial systems.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations, such as EPA guidelines.
  • Experience with tools and equipment used for soldering, piping, and electrical work.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
