A Software Engineer I with a background in Backend Development is responsible for building and maintaining server-side applications, APIs, and databases that power scalable and reliable systems. This role involves writing clean and efficient code, ensuring data security, and optimizing application performance. The ideal candidate demonstrates logical thinking, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills, while contributing to team efforts with professionalism and collaboration. A commitment to continuous growth and learning is expected to keep pace with evolving technologies and best practices in backend engineering.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and develop backend services from scratch to support core business functions and system requirements.
  • Build and maintain APIs and server-side logic to ensure seamless integration with frontend applications and external systems.
  • Apply knowledge of software architecture and design patterns to improve scalability, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, including frontend developers, QA engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in Agile or Waterfall methodologies throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Continuously enhance technical and professional skills through certifications and ongoing learning.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to work requirements, including occasional tasks outside standard business hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in Software Engineering or Backend Development.
  • Foundational knowledge of server-side programming, database design, and API development.
  • Familiar with modern backend technologies and frameworks such as Java and Spring boot.
  • Ability to work with databases MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of Software Development methodologies Agile or Waterfall.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with a positive work attitude.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and occasional work outside standard business hours.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred but not required.
