DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.  Assists the head librarian in initiating and supervising the recording, processing, circulating, maintaining and storing of reference and instructional materials, equipment, and furniture.

1.1 Facilitating a system of making the academic community aware of new acquisitions, circulation policies and procedures, etc.,

1.2 Embarking on educational activities, which enhance the level of interest and use of Library resources.

1.3 Facilitating documentation and exhibition of information on significant local, national, and international events with educational relevance.

2. Handles borrowing and returning of books, computerized issue, book reserve and clearance system.

3. Handles user complains and library tours.

4. Supervises the receiving and recording of overdue fines.

5.  Propose plans and implement activities directed toward the maximum utilization of the library resources of the unit for instructional and research purposes.

  1. Prepares reports on library activities and usage statistics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Holder of a degree in Library Science and Information Science with librarian's licensure required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with cataloguing, various computer applications and establishing metadata descriptions is a plus.
