The Senior Accountant will assist the Finance and Accounting Head oversee the financial strategy, planning, and operations of Polaris Reinsurance. This role is responsible for ensuring financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and robust risk management practices to support the company's growth.

The Senior Accountant will assist in leading the Finance and Accounting Team to drive performance, efficiency, and profitability across the business.

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with Polaris Reinsurance's business objectives.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to the Board and Executive Management to support decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

Financial Management & Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including general accounting, treasury, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant preparation of financial statements.
  • Manage investment portfolios, cash flow, and capital adequacy to optimize returns and liquidity.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with insurance/reinsurance regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards (IFRS, local GAAP).
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and rating agencies.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls and risk management frameworks.

Business Partnering & Performance

  • Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and operations teams to align financial management with business performance.
  • Monitor profitability, claims ratios, and reinsurance arrangements.
  • Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and insights on growth opportunities and risks.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to build high performance and technical expertise.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Php35, Php50,000.00 per month
