ABAT/Behavior Technicians

Job Description:

Behavior Technicians or ABATs teach, support and reinforce better behaviors. They implement individualized treatment plans that focus on communication, social, and daily living skills to reduce challenging behaviors.. They demonstrate working knowledge and application of Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET) and other behavior analytic approaches.

Responsibilities:

-Implement individualized behavior plans programmed by a BCBA

-Execute strategies to overcome skill and performance deficits

-Collect session data and document session notes

-Provide proactive and reactive models of behavior support

-Communicate session outcomes to supervisors and families

-Travel to learners' residence if home-based

Job Qualifications:

A. Applied Behavior Analysis Technicians (ABAT) - credentialed ABA technicians by QABA

B. Behavior technicians - non-credentialed ABA technicians by QABA willing to be credentialed ABAT (Paid training)

  1. Graduate of special education, education, psychology or behavioral science
  2. Must be computer literate, dependable, organized, very detail-oriented
  3. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with all levels of staff, the general public and the people we support
  4. Ability to work in the home, school and clinical settings
  5. Ability to walk, stand, stoop and push a wheelchair and be out in a variety of weather
  6. Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively
  7. Must have good leadership skills
  8. Must pass a background check.
  9. Licensed teacher or work experience in special needs population is an advantage
  10. Willing to be part and deliver world-class ABA services where science meets compassion in changing lives
