The Aircon Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air conditioning systems in the hospital. This role is essential to ensure the proper functioning of HVAC systems, creating a comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, and maintain air conditioning units and related systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues related to air conditioning systems, including but not limited to ventilation, refrigerants, and cooling units.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on air conditioning systems and other HVAC equipment.
  • Monitor and ensure proper functioning of the air conditioning systems in patient rooms, operating rooms, and other hospital areas.
  • Replace and repair parts such as compressors, filters, motors, and thermostats as needed.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and maintenance schedules.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and emergency repairs.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry standards and new technologies related to HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure a safe and functional environment in the hospital.

Job Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Must be a graduate of a vocational/technical course related to air conditioning technology or refrigeration.
  • Certification: Possession of NCII or NCIII certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Aircon Technician or in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or large facility setting is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and air conditioning technologies.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing air conditioning units.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with hospital staff and contractors.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety standards.

Other Requirements: Ability to work flexible shifts, respond to on-call requests, and be available for emergency repairs.
