FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs clinical duties, delivers Medical Nutrition Therapy in the in-patient and out-patient setting and acts as a technical consultant in the dietary department.

  • Improves the operational system, process and policy in support to hospital's mission.
  • Prepares management reports, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
  • Performs a significant role in long-term planning, including initiatives geared towards operational excellence.
  • Supervises the tray line distribution of therapeutic diets to ensure that Doctors prescribed diet are properly implemented.
  • Supervises the preparation of blended feeding or tube feeding for in patients.
  • Interprets physician diet order for diagnosis and recommends diet order changes as indicated.
  • Oversees the entire Dietary operations.
  • Collate official receipts, purchase request forms, purchase order forms for the purpose of recording the transactions and preparation of report for the accounting department.
  • Relates information on assigned patients to food production staff and Diet Aide.
  • Evaluates appropriateness of diet order for diagnosis and recommends diet order changes as indicated.
  • Trains the dietary personnel in food safety and sanitation to meet the in-service requirement in infection control.
  • Provides regular nutrition education on the area of expertise to dietary personnel through in-service education sessions and lectures.
