Key Responsibilities and Duties

Shipping and Receiving:

  • Monitor the Loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing delivery vehicles (trucks, containers) using manual and powered equipment.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying quantities and checking for damages or discrepancies against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Process and document incoming inventory by labeling, counting, and entering information into a warehouse management system (WMS).

Inventory and Storage:

  • Organize and store merchandise in appropriate warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation (e.g., FIFO - First-In, First-Out).
  • Perform daily inventory checks and cycle counts to maintain accurate stock records.
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damages, or stock shortages to a supervisor.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Pick and pull materials and products from stock accurately based on work orders or picking lists.
  • Pack, wrap, and label orders securely for shipment according to customer specifications and company standards.
  • Prepare orders for pickup or delivery by moving them to the staging area and assisting with loading.

Equipment Operation & Maintenance:

  • Safely operate material-handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move and stack materials.
  • Perform routine pre- and post-operation maintenance checks on all equipment and report any issues promptly.

Safety and Maintenance:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, ensuring all aisles and work areas are free of hazards.
  • Comply with all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations (OSHA standards, company policies).
  • Assist in general warehouse upkeep, including sweeping and organizing storage areas.
