1. Job Summary
The Cinema Supervisor oversees daily cinema operations to ensure excellent customer experience, smooth screening execution, and efficient staff management. This role includes supervising ticketing, ushering, snack bar (if applicable), cinema checks, safety procedures, and customer handling. The Cinema Supervisor ensures compliance with SM Cinema standards and supports the Cinema Manager in operational and administrative tasks.
2. Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesA. Operations Management
- Oversee day‑to‑day cinema operations including ticketing, ushering, cinema house checks, lobby management, and screening schedules.
- Ensure all cinemas are clean, well-maintained, and ready before each screening.
- Monitor audio‑visual systems and coordinate with technicians for any technical concerns.
- Ensure accurate implementation of movie schedules, promos, and ticket pricing.
B. Staff Supervision
- Supervise and guide Cinema Cashiers, Customer Experience Crew, and other frontline staff.
- Prepare daily shift assignments, break schedules, and rotations.
- Conduct on-the-spot coaching and enforce service and grooming standards.
- Assist in onboarding and training new hires.
C. Customer Service & Issue Resolution
- Handle escalated customer concerns professionally.
- Provide quick solutions for operational issues such as seating errors, double bookings, or technical disruptions.
- Ensure consistent delivery of SM Cinema's customer service standards.
D. Cash & Sales Management
- Oversee cashiering operations and ensure proper cash handling.
- Verify cashier reports, sales reconciliation, and deposit summaries.
- Monitor sales performance of tickets and promos.
E. Compliance, Safety & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with SM policies on safety, cleanliness, and security.
- Enforce cinema rules and security protocols inside theaters and common areas.
- Prepare and submit daily operational reports, incident reports, and performance updates to the Cinema Manager.
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate with facility teams for repairs.
JOB SPECIFICATION: CINEMA SUPERVISOR1. Education
- Graduate of any 4-year course (preferred: Business, Hospitality, Tourism, HRM, Mass Communication).
- Open to college level with strong supervisory experience in retail/hospitality.
2. Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years experience in retail, hospitality, theater/cinema operations, or customer service.
- Preferably with supervisory or team leader experience.
- Experience in cashiering operations is an advantage.
3. Knowledge & Skills Required
- Strong leadership, people management, and delegation skills.
- Customer service excellence and conflict-handling skills.
- Good understanding of cash handling and sales reporting.
- Basic knowledge of AVP (audio-video projection) systems is an advantage.
- Computer literate (MS Office, POS, reporting tools).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
4. Personal Qualities

- Can work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
- Strong attention to detail and operational awareness.

- Physically fit to conduct cinema rounds and operational checks.
6. Work Schedule
- Willing to work shifting schedules, weekends, and holidays.
- Flexible to handle extended hours during blockbuster periods or special events.
