Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Transform ideas into system designs, diagrams, and database structures, and guide your team to produce clean, maintainable code.
  • Manage the entire software development life cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, R&D, estimation, sprint planning, development, code review, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ensure project delivery with minimal bugs, correct logic implementation, and stable software in production.
  • Identify risks, potential problems, initiate prevention or mitigation of issues by adjusting plans as needed.
  • Write technical documentation such as plans, procedures, system designs, flow charts, and diagrams.
  • Keep stakeholders and clients updated on project progress, creation of utilization reports, root cause analysis reports and presentations and other reports as required by upper management.
  • Continuous improvement of dev team's performance by communicating job expectations, planning & ideation sessions, performance monitoring and appraisals. Also performs coaching, counseling, and imposing disciplinary action to dev team members.
  • Identify and address capability limitations of the dev team, and provide workarounds / improvement plans, constructive feedback and analysis.
  • Initiates technological research by keeping up-to-date with current technologies, I.T. trends, products, cloud services, and makes sure that projects are using the latest available technologies.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops, seminars, and obtaining certifications.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Filipino.
  • Additional language skills in technical-level Mandarin are a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development using Java/Spring Framework, JavaScript (NodeJS, VueJS), Python, and PHP.
  • 6+ years of experience with private, public, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • 6+ years of experience with REST APIs, relational databases, NoSQL databases, and Microservices Architecture.
  • 6+ years of experience troubleshooting, debugging, and analyzing system designs and source code.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and analyzing flow charts, sequence diagrams, and other software development documents.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and solve ambiguous problems with full ownership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience managing developer teams.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development using Java/Spring Framework, JavaScript (NodeJS, VueJS), Python, and PHP.
  • 10+ years of experience with REST APIs, relational databases, NoSQL databases, and Microservices Architecture.
  • 10+ years of experience troubleshooting, debugging, and analyzing system designs and source code.
